The church record gives him as "begotten by whoring," simply means Mennonite Parents.
Arrived in America 09/14/1751 on ship "Saint Andrew."

When his mother decided to return to the homeland to claim her diary, and the ship was overtaken by pirates, Michael was taken captive and held for two years. One night, in the Philadelphia harbor (some accounts give it as Baltimore harbor) he jumped overboard and swam to shore, and made his escape, and returned to German town, Pennsylvania.

After 2nd marriage he moved to Elklick Twp. , then Brothervalley Twp., Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

In 1776, Michael acquired 50 acres of land in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
