In 1798 Jonathan Richardson came to the New World from Armagh, North Ireland with his son, Andrew Nathaniel. Nathaniel, as he was known, applied for naturalization papers together with his father, Jonathan, and his grandfather, Samuel, at Allegheny County in Pennsylvania in 1803. That same year he took Julia Logan as his wife. Julia had travelled with her parents, David Logan and Julia Reed, from Castlebar County, Ireland around the same time as the Richardsons.

The couple raised eleven children; Robert, William, Jane, John, Alexander, Anne, James, Henry, Edward, Elizabeth, and Mary. (I have information on Robert, John and Henry that I am willing to share). John Richardson, one of their sons, moved west to Hopedale, Ohio where he met and married Louisa DeLany. Louisa was the daughter of Samuel DeLany and Albina McNeely. Albina's father, Andrew, was one of the founding fathers of Hopedale. (I also have information on the DeLany's and McNeely's)

John and Louisa moved further west to Missouri where they raised a family of seven children; Andrew, Lavinia, Camilla, Melvin, Ella, and Granville. (I have extensive research on the three sons, Andrew, Melvin, and Granville but would love any information on the parents, John and Louisa, and the daughters Lavinia, Ella and Camilla who may have descendants in Kansas or Missouri) John's three sons, Andrew, Melvin, and Granville pioneered even further west to the New Mexico territory. Andrew remained in New Mexico and married Benina Maria Lucero. Benina was the daughter of Cornelio Lucero and Noberta Archuleta. Together Andrew and Benina raised a family of seven children in Lincoln County, New Mexico; Bonifacia, Edward, Tomas, Granville, Lavinia (Elena),Melvin, and Jose Candelaria who was Benina's son from a previous marriage.

Melvin eventually migrated to Sterling, Kansas and raised a family there. Granville remained in New Mexico and was Roswell's mayor during the early 1900's. Later he and his family moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Andrew and Melvin are buried in Cottonwood Cemetery in Sterling, Kansas. Granville is buried in Massachusetts.

Also researching the following surnames: McNeely, DeLany (also spelled Delany or Delaney), Lucero, Maes, Aldaz (or Aldas),and Montes.
