Henry was one of the sons of Nathaniel and Julia Logan. He established a jewelry business in Pittsburgh in 1839. When his health failed he went to Europe in an attempt to recover but died in Nice in 1865. His widow, Caroline Eaton, moved the family to Concord, Massachusetts to be near her brother, Lorenzo Eaton.
