Louisa DeLany Richardson was born in Hopedale, Ohio, the daughter of Samuel DeLany and Albina McNeely. She married John Richardson, son of Nathaniel Richardson and Julia Reed. She is buried on a farm near Sedalia, Missouri. The inscription on her headstone reads:

On the front of the stone is inscribed the word "Mother". Location of this cemetery: Section 7, Township 47, North Range 20, north of Route J in northern Pettis County on a farm belonging to John and Mary Ruth Nichols. Have seen the cemetery referred to as both "Old Union Cemetery" or "Majors Cemetery". There are only 12 tombstones in the cemetery.
