Martin was the brother of Sarah Ryan FitzGibbon. According to census records, he was born in 1879 in Chicago, IL, and at age 20 was a day laborer living with his widowed mother and his 13 year old sister Sarah (my grandmother). Martin, a bachelor, died in 1932 from complications of TB and pneumonia. He is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Elgin, IL.
