Welcome. This page is dedicated to my mother's ancestors. The family lines being researched include Bennett, Binckele, Binggeli, Binkley, Boucher, Cagle, Carney, Chadoin, Demonbreun, Demontbrun, Goad, Hollis, Pitt, Rose, Shadowen and others. I amnot a professional genealogist so I apologize for any errors, but for over ten years I have attempted to gather information about my ancestors.I welcome discussion, corrections and additional information. There are many people who have contributed over the years and I thank each and everyone. This web page is under construction.Because of that the contents may change at any time.Sorry for any incovenience this may cause. Please email me for any further information. Thanks for visiting and please tell other researchers that might be interested in the familiy lines on this page.Check out the "LINKS" section for other sites including the pages of my other family lines. As stated before, this page is dedicated to my mother's ancestors. My mother Katherine (Bennett) Richardson is the seventh and only surviving child of John Franklin Bennett and Willie Pearl Demonbreun. She was born in Davidson County, Nashville, TN. and was raised on the north side of town. My mom has memories of her mother having to sell "moonshine whiskey" in order to feed and house ten children during the depression. She remembers never having electricity until she married my father. During a year of "courting", my parents spent most of their dates riding a trolley car to and from the movies in the summer or sitting with her family near the fireplace in the winter. On June 8,1940 my father borrowed an old car from a friend and with my mother's sister they drove from Nashville to Franklin, Kentucky and were married paying a justice of the peace $3.00 for the ceremony. They had a flat tire on the way to Kentucky and ran out of gas before they could get home.My mother still smiles when she talks of my father making $11.00 a week and together they were able to create a happy home.
