| I currently have a good start on the genealogy of my paternal side of the family. The Rich family was originaly Ritchie but was changed by Peter Ritchie who was born in Perth, Scotland and died in Marion, N.Y. My maternal side of the family involving Alex Rutherford and Jessie Little who immigrated to New York State from the Borderlands of Scotland (Hawick & Selkirk)has recently been expanded. Have also started on my wife's (Gloria Marrone from Utica, N.Y.) ancestors. These currently include Marrone (Marone), Motto (Motta), Damiani, Ciruzzi, Pica, and Galatti families which originated from Laurenzana and Gorgogione in the District of Potenza in Italy. The Marrone's immigrated originally to Canada and ended up in Utica, N.Y. in the early 1900's. The Ciruzzi's immigrated directly to Utica in the late 1800's and early 1900's. |
