I am researching the Riddock Family originally from Ireland,
Robert & Rose Ann (nee Bennet) were married in 1840 in Co. Down Ireland, then with their five children (Mary, Elizabeth, John, Robert and Samuel) migrated to Scotland sometime between 1848-1851. They first appear in Scotland in the 1851 Census in Clarkston, Lanarkshire. Robert with his family, lived in the Airdrie area of Lanarkshire, Scotland. Robert was employed as a coal miner.Rose Ann died in 1885, Robert died three years later in 1888. Some of Robertsís descendants migrated to Canada, United States and Australia.
Mary Riddock (nee McDonald) who as a widow (her husband John Stark Riddock having died in 1918 from colon cancer) with her four children arrived Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1920. Any information on this family would be appreciated. I am willing share the information I have.
