I have researched my branch of the Riechers family in the United States and Germany. My great-grandfather, Gerdt Wilhelm Riechers, emigrated from the Hanover region of Germany to the United States in 1853. After living in Illinois and Missouri for about 17 years, he moved with his wife and childen to Clay County, Kansas in the fall of 1870. He lived in Clay County, Kansas until his death in 1908. I have traced my Riechers ancestors back to the early 1600's in Germany. Any additional information will be appreciated. I am particularly interested in any relatives who may be living in Germany. I will be glad to exchange information with anyone who may be interested. |
