Notes for Bjorn Bjornson: Bjorn and Liva Benson came to the United States in 1873, on the sailing ship Hibea, which had three masts and a cook house on deck. It took four weeks to go from Stavanger to Quebec via Atlantic Ocean and one week on train from Quebec to Livingston County , Illinois. On the trip, as they were nearing Newfoundland, it became very cold. They had to go around 2 icebergs. After arriving in America young Bjorn thought his name was too much Norwegian so he started calling himself Ben. Bjorn and Liva are buried in North St. John's Cemetery just north of Jacobson tombstone (no markers above ground except tiles with cement inside). When Liva died he later married Ingbor. They had six children. Their first child Ole was so frail --didn't think he would live so they named the second child Ole also. Another version on the two Ole's, it is believed that when the second Ole was born, Liva's brother, Ole, drowned while fishing, so she named her baby Ole for him. Because of the confusion later in life, one took the name Ole Sabo (The name of their land in Norway) and the other Ole Benson. In the community they wre known as Stor (big) Ole and Lille (little)Ole, according to age.
