| My research on The Riely Family & Kinsmen is fairly detailed from about 1700 forward but has many gaps as the search stretches beyond American shores. Some of the early names collected include: John Riely- 1715 G. Erlinghufs- 1450 J.Stoy- 1700 W. Arlinghofs- 1637 E.Wright- 1702 Frank Terlau- 1797 Robert B. Polk- 1632 Benjamin Wheeless- Abt. 1700 Robert DePollok II- Abt. 1152 Ablolom Watkins- Abt.1750 R. Henry- Abt. 1775 Felix Boudreaux- Abt. 1775 Frank Suetholz- 1861 The Riely family(Riely, Stoy, Wright & Polk) reportedly came from NorthUmberlin Co. Ireland, but such a county can be found only in England. The Suetholz klan (Erlinghufs, Arlinghofs, Terlau etc.) had French-German ties. The Wheeless folk came to Virginia probably from England. The Watkins-Boudreaux were Louisiana based and possible came here from Nova Scotia. The search goes on. Let me know if anyone has imput. I will also be willing to share data. |
