This family history is dedicated to my wonderful Grandparents, Marshall & Dorthy Shafer. They have been a real insperation to me and of much help. I just loved hearing all the stories of my past history. They have told many stories of the Ill fadded Donner Party, in which is on my Grandmothers side. That in itself is quite a story. Be sure to visit the link on this site for more great information on the McCutcheon family. My Grandfather, Marshall Shafer has had quite a story to tell in itself. He has been quite an influancial person in the Workers Union and has met with Presidents of the United States as well as with other important people. His story is quite interesting as well. Marshall Shafer has passed on in July of 2004. I have written his story and a copy is at the Beaver City, NE. library. I have been researching the Shafer Family line for the past twelve years now. Michael was born in PA. in 1821 and died in Rulo, NE. I do not know who or where his parents are or where they are from. I keep digging and hopeing to find out someday. The research has been a very interesting one to say the least. There are many other names involved in this family tree. Such as Fritts, whom has had many patents in the oil fiels in Torance, CA., Puryear, McCutcheon, Frongello, Lupton, Murdock, Hester, Miller, Babcock, Canna, Eaton & Koken just to name a few. Maybe this page will help someone else in their research and we can make some new connections as we travel the roads of our family history. If anyone can add to this page or make any correction, if needed, just let me know. As I recieve new information I will try to keep this page updated. I will be glad to help anyone if I can.
