Stephen Rigney and his wife Mary nee Egan arrived in Victoria Australia in 1857 from Ferbane, Kings County Ireland. With five of their children, Thomas, John, Keiran, Maria and Anne they setttled in Ballan not far from Melbourne. Two more children where born after their arrival, Stephen and James.
In 1905 at Bendigo, Victoria, in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Stephen married Annie Marie Kennedy. These are my grandparents.
Annie's father Michael Kennedy came to Australia around 1853 from Nenagh in County Tipperary. Also in 1853 in Geelong Victoria he married Ellen Ryan who also came from Ireland. Killoskehan, County Tipperary. As well as Annie the other children were Bridget, Timothy, Ellen, Mary Ann (Polly), who married Stephen Rigney's brother Keiran, also in Bendigo in 1905, Michael Joseph and Johanna Mary.
From records obtained from Ireland and Australia I have been able to find out more information regarding these families.
I am interested in locating any members of the Rigney, Kennedy and Ryan family who are connected to my family
