I was born near a small town in Illinois, Arthur, in 1934 and have been trying to follow my geneaology back as far as I can for the last 14 years. I think (all errors in files received)that my heritage goes back about 5 thousand years to Miles Riggs of England on my fathers side of the family. There are a few holes I am unable to fill. One is of my 3rd great grand father, Hiram (Iram) Riggs. I know he is the son of Samual & Elizabeth (Tompkins) Riggs. According to my records Hiram was born in about 1752 in Morristown, Morris County, NJ and went to North Carolina in about 1769 with his father and at least 3 other brothers and there families and there fathers family. They settled in the area of Surry County, NC and other coounties near in NC. The main problem is I cannot find the name of his spouse. Her first name Martha (Patsy) nee name unknown. I have Hiram dying in Lincoln County, KY in about 1815-1820. I have some of his children as Aaron, William, Silas, Samual, and Moses. I know from a land search he had several daughters but am not sure of there names. one son (Aaron) is my gggrand father. If you happen to read this and can add or correct anything send me an e-mail and we will discuss it.
