Joseph Casper (Caspar, spelling in Germany) was born November, 20, 1831, in Senheim, Germany, and died September 10, 1916, in Avon, Ohio. He married Anna Maria (Mary) Sehl, on November 20, 1865, in Senheim. They immigrated to the United States in 1872. The 1880 U. S. census states that Joseph and Mary Casper had nine children but that only seven were surviving. The living children of Joseph and Mary Casper in 1880 were:

18, 1949, Avon, Ohio; m. Edith Wagner, February 26, 1895, Avon, Ohio;

Nicholas Casper, b. November 25, 1873, Avon, Ohio, d. December
22, 1939, Avon, Ohio, m. Sophia A. Mohr, February 12, 1901, Avon,
Ohio;

Barbara Casper, b. March 9, 1875, Avon, Ohio, d. ?, m. (1)
Charles Kreitzer, April 14, 1896, Avon, Ohio, m. (2) William
