Welcome to Darlene's Family Home Page. This page is created in memory of my daddy, Edwin Dwaine Clark, Sr. and my oldest sister, Dellamarie Clark Nazario. Daddy was taken from his earthly family on March 21, 1998 and Dellamarie on November 3, 1999 to join the angels of their heavenly family. Daddy and Della were loved and are missed by all who knew them.

The Ed Clark family began in Virginia in the early 1800's. James Madison Clark, my ggg-grandfather, moved from Madison County, Virginia sometime in the 1830's and married Mary McLean in Wayne County, Indiana on September 13, 1836. From there, the family moved to Hancock County, Indiana. The family stayed in the
Hancock County surrounding areas of Madison County and Morgan County.

Ed's mother, Mildred Marie Young was of Quaker heritage. Her heritage can be traced back to the late 1700's when her ancestor, Robert W. Young appeared in Kent County, Maryland. The Young's moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania to Cincinnati, Ohio to Rush County, Indiana. From Rush County, Indiana they, too, moved to the Hancock County, Indiana area.

On February 18, 1951, Ed married Clara Marie Miller in Fairland, Indiana. Clara is the oldest of five children of the late Rev. Clifford Leroy Miller and Bernice Marie Phipps.

Rev. Miller's father, John A. Miller was born in Iowa in 1871. His parents came to Iowa from Pennsylvania. John and his wife, Clara Studebaker, moved from Iowa to Nebraska to Michigan. After Clara passed away in Ortonville, John moved back to Nebraska to live with his daughter.

Rev. Miller's mother, Clara Studebaker, is a descendant of Peter Studebaker from Germany. Clara was born in Pearl City, Illinois. Her family then moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska where she met and married John.

Clara's mother, Bernice Marie Phipps is the daughter of George A. Phipps and Mary Elsie Wright. Their history is still being researched. It seems as if, George's family came to Michigan from England in the mid 1800's and settled in Ortonville, Oakland County, Michigan.
