Joseph William Riley (son of John M. Riley and Mary Nooner)698, 699, 700 was born February 16, 1878 in Garland County, Arkansas, and died August 03, 1958 in Dallas, Texas Dallas County. He married Minnie Myers on January 17, 1907 in Perryville, Arkansas Perry County Book D pg 107.

Joe Riley spent most of his life, fur trapping. He and John Albert Riley (his younger brother) trapped all over the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains when John Albert was a young man.
Joe Riley was a Logger for a short time after he married. Cutting timber and rafting the trees down the Arkansas River to Little Rock, AR. to the saw mill. It has been said that he had a pair of the finest Blue Nose Mules in the county to drag the trees down to the river with. He then would tie the logs together to make a raft and then float the raft down the river to Little Rock, AR. By all accounts, this was done in Perry County, near Perryville, AR.
