The Williams family is from West Midlands. It shows a circular route in family movements south of Birmingham. Several places are repeatedly visited by family members unbeknown to themselves - almost a compulsive migration. Occupations also seem to run in families. Incorporated within the family are the Collins from Tewkesbury, Keyte from Stourbridge and Ryland from Stratford-on-Avon.
It started with a Charles James Williams marrying Ann Horton and producing two sons, Charles Horton Williams and George James Williams who were the founders of 'Williams Brothers' Brass Founders & Employers in Birmingham. George James Williams married Louisa RYLAND. Hence the RYLAND_WILLIAMS family. The firm eventually took on another partner and the business now called 'Williams Bros & Piggott' moved to larger premises in Herbert Road, Small Heath, B'ham. Here it stayed until sold in 1965.
Any additional information would be gratefully received and I will willingly share any information I have.
I have connected with family members in Canada,USA,Australia, NZ and even Fiji.
I've also added some relevant links for those history buffs that may be interested.
