H. Richard Rinehart, my father, was "promoted to Glory" this past June 13th. Regretfully, through no fault of his, I didn't know his family well. I truly believe that was a missed enrichment. Sure, all families have varied characters and maybe all of Dad's family wasn't likely to inspire me to a greater cause. However, where did he get his inner strength that he needed right up to the last? Where did he inherit his dry wit (many times only spoken through his eyes)? Many of his siblings had obvious gifts of art/music and Dad was not an exception (in fact these clouds you see remind me of my childhood home's upstairs ceiling over a rather expansive train village set that Dad created). What about his...? I'll stop here because a listing of names and dates won't answer much of that. But what I want to accomplish is to record the people that existed and were my father's family. I have memories as a child of large family gatherings and even annual reunions that seemed to encompass acres of people and food. That all changed in my early youth as my family moved some distance. Unfortunately there was much more than miles to travel and my God given heritage of family was limited for presumably selfish reasons.

This will not be a major undertaking of years of research. It is a self-induced project to reflect on who and who's my father was...if I learn something on the way...call it providence!
