I am researching James Oglesby, father of William Oglesby, who was born about the 1740-1750 time range. He lived in Mississippi in 1792. He was listed as Jaime Oglerby on the Spanish Census. William Oglesby was born about 1775 and was listed on the 1810 Census in Mississippi. He may have served in the 10th Texas during the War of 1812. He is believed to have married an Elizabeth, but he also may have had a sister Elizabeth who married Abel Blackwell. She would have been born before 1775. She was listed as head of household on 1820 census.
Moses Oglesby was my great great grandfather. He married Caroline Owen. He was buried near the chimney of his house. The property began Oglesby Cemetary. It has become Providence Cemetary in Meadville, Mississippi.
Frances Marion Oglesby was my great grandfather. He married Judah Viola Young. The period was 1853 to 1927.
Frederick Samuel Oglesby was my grandfather and Catherine Irene Adams was my grandmother. I do not have much information yet on her family, but many are also from Meadville, Franklin County, Mississippi. The period was 1877 to 1967.
Hilton Lloyd Oglesby was my father and Carmen Latane Shinault is my mother. The period is 1914 to present. Her parents are Homer Shinault and Gladys Pearl Brant. They lived in Minturn, Arkansas. The period was 1884 to 1980. I do not have much information on them.
