I am researching the Rios family from (Machuelito) Ponce, Puerto Rico, or Puerto Rico / Spain in general. My Father Jose R. Rios Sr., (now deceased), was born in Ponce March 14, 1927. He migrated to New York approximately 1947/48. He married in New York, in 1949 to Modesta Maldonado (also deceased) and they had five children; Mildred, Jose, Nancy, Evelyn, and Ricardo. I am particularly interested in any information about my fathers parents, Ramon Rios"Vasquez" and his wife Mercedes Berenguer"Nazario". Both born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. When is unknown. I am especially interested in any information about my great-grandfather, Juan Rios"Ovalle". He was the composer of "LLUVIA DE PERLAS and DOS ESTRELLAS", two Puerto Rican Danzas. I'm sort of new to this researching stuff, so any information would be greatly appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
