I am researching the Calvin Rippy family, who possibly came from Ireland around 1840-1850, and his son,Andrew, who was born in the U. S. They first located in what now is Cleveland Cty.,Shelby, North Carolina Area. It is possible Calvin came through Ohio and was a bridge builder. He was killed in 1874 at L. Skinners Tavern in South Carolina. He also had a son named John who was supposed to have settled in upper South Carolina, maybe near Grover. His wife and some of the children are buried at Ross Grove Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. Really would like to find him and information concerning him. |
