I am researching the Galbraith family of Pennsylvania. More specifically, I'm seeking information on the ancestry of my mother, Josephine Mabel Galbraith, B: 1905 in Huntingdon Co., PA: Married: James Frederick Rishel, B: 1903 in Alexandria, Huntingdon Co., PA.
My grandfather, James Edward Galbraith; B: November 8, 1881, in Cromwell Twp. or Orbisonia, Huntingdon Co., PA; married: Anna Marie or Maria (Minnie) Golden B: July 14, 1879, in Yellow Creek, Hopewell Twp., Bedford Co., PA. My great Grandfather was Francis Keifer (or Keefer) Galbraith, B: February 24, 1852; he married: Mary Elizabeth Leonard, B: November 22, 1856, on August 26, 1876.
My GG grandparents were Hugh Galbraith, B: July 2 1825, and Mary Jane Wray, B: abt. 1827, both probably born in central PA, possibly Huntingdon Co. Other children of Hugh and Mary Jane were: David William, Reuben Fister, Samuel Hartzel, Aeminta Virginia, Levi Gaust Leamer, Missouri Jan Celeotia, and Benjamin Harvey Galbraith.
I'm also seeking information re: ancestry of the Golden's; My grandmother, Anna Marie or Maria (Minnie) Golden, was born July 14, 1879, in Hopewell, Bedford Co., PA; her parents were John Switzer Golden; B: March 15, 1840 in Washington Co., MD, and D: September 12, 1909 in Hopewell Twp, Bedford Co., PA; and Phoebe Rebecca Keesecker (or Keysucker); B: 3 February 1850 in Sleepy Creek, Morgan Co., VA (WV), and D: May 24, 1888 in Hopewell Twp, Bedford Co., PA. They were married in Maryland on March 13, 1867. Other children of John S and Phoebe Rebecca were: Howard Daniel, Margaret, Martin V., and Samuel Porter. All were born and lived in Bedford, Blair, and Huntingdon Counties, PA.
