Franklin Stuart Rittenhouse (6/29/22 - 2/2001)is the second child of Franklin Tracy Rittenhouse and Leila Irene Byrne Rittenhouse. He married Vivian Esther Erickson on October 18, 1942. They moved to Jackson, Michigan in 1947 and Vivian still resides in the area. Their family includes 4 children, Janice, Patricia, Eric & Nancy, 1 foster child James Polley (deceased), 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandsons. The Rittenhouse family has a proud heritage that has been traced to 1688 when Wilhelm Rittinghausen came to America and built the first American papermill. Details of the Rittenhouse Family Tree have been carefully maintained over the years. This page is dedicated to Franklin Stuart Rittenhouse, the oldest son of Franklin Tracy Rittenhouse, who is the oldest son of Edward Franklin Rittenhouse, the oldest son of Moses Franklin Rittenhouse (08/12/1846 - 1915) and Emma Stover Rittenhouse (10/27/1848 - 1926). Grandfather Edward and Grandmother Maymie were dedicated to the idea of maintaining family ties. As youngsters, their ten children visited with their Canadian cousins. After Grandmother died in 1943, Grandfather continued to host annual family gatherings for their children and grandchildren in Pontiac, Illinois. Since Grandfather's passing in 1956, reunions continue to play a significant role in perpetuating our sense of family. Reunions are held biennially. The 2006 reunion will be held July 7-8-9, 2006 at Baraboo Hills Campground, Baraboo, Wisconsin 53913. |
