This tree includes the Haerr, Michel, Bowlus/Paulus, Larson, Margan, Mueller, Neff and Ritter families. These families primarily came from Germany, Switzerland, and Norway The earliest family member is Heinzman Michel who was born in Bern, Switzerland in 1419. The most famous was Franz Ludwig Michel who was an explorer for the Swiss government. We are fortunate that the diaries of his travels to the U.S. still exist in Switzerland, as does an early map he drew of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. The Haerr-German Reunion has been held for over 100 years in Springfield, Ohio.
