The Civil War Battle of Shiloh was fought on Grandpa Pearson's land.He was shot in the battle, but recovered.Hazel Gossadge said she remembered stories grandmother Pearson would tell about life on the plantation in Tennessee, including stories about the tricks the slaves would play on each other.
Grandfather Pearson had three boys by his first wife: George, Robert and Wilbur.
He moved from Tennessee to Neosho, MO, bringing 3 boys with him.
He married Susan Boyd and then sired William Gilbert.The other three sons were older than William Gilbert and had a different mother.Grandpa Pearson was a Mason.
