Welcome to the Curtis/Winters Family home page.

I have my maternal family records going back to the mid 1800's on the VanWinkles who migrated from Illinois to Santa Cruz, California. The Curtis clan also migrated to Santa Cruz from Illinois, connecting with the Van Winkles. I have records on the Curtis' going back to mid 1800's.

The patriarchal side has been more of a mystery. I am researching George Forbes from Ireland, wife Jane McComb from Ontario, Canda, whose family also immigrated from Ireland. Jane married a Henry George Winters, a man of mystery known only to current family members as "the Dutchman", in Fitzburg (Oakland) California in 1906. I believe I have found Grandpa Winters in Richmond, California around 1930. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated and I am more than willing to share all information I have.
