I am in the search of information from the Melendez family of Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon, Mexico. There was a Jesus Melendez from a wealthy family who was forced to change his name to Rivas in order not to bring shame to the family as he was a gambler and lost many millions and properties in bad gambling affairs. All this happened during the mid to late 1800's. I have information up to his son, Jesus Rivas, who is my grandfather.

My quest has given me many pleasant surprises and I hope I can trace this further...
