The Rizzo Family of Brooklyn, New York

The Rizzo's immigrated from Cerda, Sicily in the early 1900's. I have been able to trace my grandfathers ancestors to the early 1800's in Sicily before hitting a dead end with my great-great grandfather, Stefano Rizzo.My paternal grandmother was Carolina Trentacosta. I have info on her parents and that is as far as I could go. Records in the 19th Century in Sicily seems to be scarce.On my mothers side, I am trying to trace the "Amato" lineage. My grandfather Stefano Amato, also immigrated to the NY area in the early part of this century.Any information would be greatly appreciated. My ancestor tree is linked on this web page.
