Looking for any information regarding my family genealogy: On my father's side of the family, I can trace it as far back as, Valle D'Olma, Sicily, starting with my great grandparents, Carlo Rizzo, 18XX - 18XX and Joephine Giglio, 1844 - 2-6-1937. It appears they had five children born in Valle D'Olmo, Sicily: 1. Salvatore Rizzo, Born: 1860 and Died: North East, PA, 19XX. 2. Luigi Rizzo, Born: 18XX and Died: North East, PA, 19XX. 3. Carl Rizzo (my grandfather), Born: 18XX and Died: North East, PA, 19XX. 4. Sarah(?) Rizzo, Born: DOB and DOD: Unknown. 5. Antonino Rizzo, Born: April 14, 1884 and Died: North East, PA, Oct 30, 1953.
On my grandmother's (married my grandfather: Carl Rizzo) side of the family, I can trace it as far back as, Valle D'Olma, Sicily, Starting with my other great grandparents, Salvatore Scibetta, 18XX - 18XX and Rose Giglio, 18XX - 18XX. It appears they had five children, their places of birth and death are unknown: 1. Salvatore (Sam) Scibetta (he was a medical doctor), 2. Luigi Scibetta (he was a medical doctor), 3. Mary Scibetta (my grandmother), 4. Frances Scibetta, who I guess was married to Tom Muscarella, 5. Ann Scibetta, who I guess was married to Vincent Jenco.
The above people were decendents of "The Four Giglio Sisters plus one Brother. This information was taken from a diagram researched by Lewis J. Shioleno, Sr., son of Mary Ann Liberty Shioleno and Charles Joseph Shioleno (Sciolino), April 7, 1994.
Although Mr. Schioleno put alot of work into this genealogy project, alot of information is still missing. I would like to have the missing and any additional information available.
Also according to the above, my grandparents on my father's side were first cousins. What a mess that was. The marriage was okay with the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) but not with PA. They had to go to New York to get married because they were first cousins. It surprised me to hear that the RCC condoned the marriage. I guess money talked in the RC Church and probably still does.
Now as for my mother's side of the family, I can only tell you that my mother name was Wilma Barbara DiNicola and was married to Cosimo Charles Rizzo of Erie, PA. Both are deceased now and alot of past family history was burned in December 1997, shortly before my mother passed away, by the moron who is married to my only sister. I don't have any information about her mother or father or any before that. If information might be available let me know.
