4. SOPHIA⁷ KEELER (JOSEPH⁶, JOSEPH⁵, JOSEPH⁴, JOSEPH³, SAMUEL², RALPH¹) was born Abt. 1792 in United States ¹⁰², and died October 1870 in Ontario ¹⁰³. She married (1) ?? CRANDALL. She married (2) BENEDICT DEWEY, son of JOSIAH DEWEY and FICHIA BURGHARDT. He was born Abt. 1787 in Great Barrington, Berkshire, MA, United States ¹⁰⁴, and died August 29, 1842 in Cramahe Twp, Northumberland Cty, Ont., Canada ^105,¹⁰⁶.

Notes for SOPHIA KEELER:
Nancy Cameron identified another daughter, Sophia, but reported only that she married (1)
Mr. Crandall, and (2) Mr. Dewey. "Thus she was probably buried near her parents--they are surrounded by Deweys in the back part of the Lakeport cemetery."

Sophia Dewey is listed at the end of the family on p. 38 of the 1851 Cramahe Twp Census, as a 59 yr old Widow, born in the United States. She is listed with the following:

Joseph Dewey, Laborer, b. in Canada, 25 yrs
Olive Dewey, b. in Canada, 29 yrs
Elizabeth Dewey, b. in Canada, 21 yrs

Martha Dewey, b. in Canada, 16 yrs
Walter Boswell, Laborer, b. in Canada, 35 yrs
Thomas Scripture (?), Laborer, b. in England, 27 yrs
Mary Keeler, Servant, b. in Canada, 16 yrs

I suspect Mary Keeler could be the daughter of Martin & Susan Keeler.

In the 1861 Cramahe Twp Census, Div. 1, p. 38, Sarah is listed with Alonzo Dewey (and family) again as a 67 yr old widow.

Sophia is listed in the 1871 Ontario Census, Cramahe Twp, Div. A-1, Schedule No. 2 - Deaths Within Last Twelve Months. Her age at death was 79 years and the cause of death was indicated as "old age."
