"Died. At his residence near Amherst, on Tuesday the 24th instant, after a short illness, Barnabus McKyes Esq., in the 71st year of his age. The funeral (at which his friends and acquaintances are requested to attend) will leave his late residence, at 10 o'clock, on Thursday next (tomorrow). March 25, 1835"
According to the Cemetery Database at the Cobourg Library, Barnabas was originally buried in St. Peter's Church Yard and removed to St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery in Cobourg on Ontario St. North. It does not appear that his wife, Anne, or daughter, Clarissa, were removed from their original burial.
