Notes for Susan Caroline Miller: Obituary SISTER SUSAN TRIPPE
Sister Susan Miller was born April 13, 1854. She was married to S. C. Swain January 27, 1878. She departed this life March 31, 1930. She professed faith in Christ at the age of eighteen. She lived a devoted Christian until her death. She held membership with the missionary Baptist church at Plain view at the time of her death. She was always at her church meeting when it was possible for her to go, and she was always ready to support the Lords cause with her means. She was the mother of seven children, four girls and three boys. One girl and three boys are still living. Brother S. C. Swain died September 3, 1899. Her second marriage was to Eld. A. J. Trippe, February 7, 1901. Brother Trippe died June 29, 1923. Resolve that we tender to the bereaved family our condolence and heart felt sympathy, and we live in humble submission to the Devine will of our saviour. Sorrow not dear friend as those that have no hope. She cannot come back to us, we can go to her. May we realize that our loss is her gain. Resolved by the Plain View church that we tender to the family a copy of these resolutions and the we send a copy to the Baptist and Commoner and a copy to the Oklahoma Baptist voice for publication. She was laid to rest in Wells Valley cemetery in the presence of a host of friends and relatives. Services were conducted by her pastor Eld. W. F. Mayo.
