Notes for Mary Sue Durham: Edna Evelyn (Muncrief) Roach granddaughter of Mary Sue Muncrief recalls her hospitality. Mary Sue always had bacon, green onions, cornbread, and something to drink if somebody was hungry. If somebody came by she always offer them something to eat. She always kept the items above cooked and in the safe.
A neighbor Maude Chapman lived next door to Mary Sue. She would caution her when her dresses were a little short and her ankles were to be seen out from under the hem of her skirt. She also said there was never a sweeter more soft-spoken person than Mary Sue Muncrief.
