Notes for Calvin Merrit Collins: Obituary CALVIN COLLINS Services for Calvin M. Collins, 45, of 2416 W. Texas St. will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at West Funeral Home Chapel. He died Friday in a local hospital. The Rev. Wilson L. Akins of Loco Hills Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery. Collins had lived in Carlsbad 19 months and was a flotation operator at Mississippi Chemical Corp. He was a member of Swan Street Baptist Church in Silver City. He was born in Bromide, Oklahoma, and was graduated from high school there. In 1952 he served in the Koren War with A Company, 1902 ECB. After his discharge, he was employed by Boeing Aircraft at Wichita, Kansas. He then moved to Silver City, where he was employed with Phelps-Dodge for seven years. Survivors include the widow, Lynn, Carlsbad; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Collins, Bromide; three sons, John and Floyd Collins, Carlsbad, and David Norris, Albuquerque; one daughter, Pearlene Collins, Carlsbad; three brothers, Clinton, Oklahoma City, Okla., Ray, Derby, Kansas, and Melvin, Madill, Okla., and one sister, Sarah Anderson, Ada, Okla.
