Melvin Lee Collins (son of Charlie Collins and Pearl Gertrude Muncrief) was born 11 Jan 1937 in Bromide, Okla., and died 22 May 1999 in Madill, Oklahoma - Buried Lebanon Cemetery. He married Jo Ann Chaney.

Melvin Collins Funeral services for Melvin Lee Collins, 62 of Madill, were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 25 at the Madill First Baptist Church. Arnold Lay and Bob Marple officiated services, and music was arranged by Cleta Willis and Chad Robinson. Collins was born Jan. 11, 1937 at Bromide where he was raised. He married JoAnn Chaney at Bromide on Aug. 19, 1961. He and JoAnn moved to Madill in 1970 where they were to continue to reside to the present time. Collins worked for many years as a sewing machine mechanic for the Madill Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the Madill First Baptist Church. Following three years of declining health, Collins died Saturday morning, May 22 in the Madill hospital. Survivors include: his wife JoAnn Collins of Madill; son and daughters, Timothy Collins of San Diego, Calif., Sarah Hewitt of Oklahoma City, and Jana Gordon of Mannsville; grandchildren, Darrell and Ashely Gordon; and brother and sister, Clinton Collins of Choctaw, and Sarah Anderson of Ada. Casket bearers were Larry Wright, Al Hoppers, Donald Morgan, Doug Benson, Larry Eddy, and Harry Harkins. Honorary bearers were Guy Pentico, John Carroll, Don Huddleston, Al Burchfield, Calvin Harkins, and Glenny Matney. Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
