Notes for Lola Pauline Carlton: Lola P. Carlton Lane went to be with Our Lord the 31st of July, 2005. She was born July 18, 1922 at Bromide, Oklahoma to Audie A. and Mary L. Carlton. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Midwest City for over 50 years. She also served as a valued volunteer for Midwest Regional Hospital for over 20 years. On January 3, 1946 at Norman, Oklahoma, she married Emory R. Lane her loyal husband of nearly 60 years. They began their life together at Hickman Field, Hawaii after the war, and later settled in Midwest City in 1959 in the home they built together. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was honored to achieve the status of Worthy Grand Matron of Oklahoma in 1976. She served on the Jurisprudence Committee of General Grand Chapter from 1982 to 1985. She continued to serve in various positions of national and global honor from 1986 to 2005. In that capacity she traveled to China, Australia, Brazil, and many other countries where she always graciously represented the United States, Oklahoma, Eastern Star, and herself to those fortunate enough to have met her. She is survived by her husband Emory, her son Carlton Lane & wife Rhonda, her daughter Paula White & her husband Jim, two grandchildren, Sarah White & Clyde Lane, as well as her brothers Buster & Harley Carlton, her sisters Lucille Wood & Dovie Weast, along with a host of loving friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Order of the Eastern Star Heart Fund, Oklahoma Grand Chapter located at 1415 North Walnut, Guthrie, OK 73044. Services will be held on the 4th of August, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Midwest City, 705 East Rickenbacker with Rev. Mike Tignor officiating, followed by internment at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 North Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK at 1:30 p.m. for those who wish to gather to say their farewells.
