David D. Robbins Family of Seymour, IN

Updated August 7, 2005

Hello Everyone. I'm currently researching my husband David Robbins and my family tree. His surnames are as follows:

Robbins
Cloud
Alsip
Pennington
Parsons

We've been trying to find Thomas Robbins born before 1790 in VA. He is the founder of the line and I have information on some of his descendants. They are from Lee Co. VA and David's father is presently living in Harlan Co. KY.

My surnames include:
Metzger
Taylor
Bagshaw
Gorman
Lewellen
Silence
Derringer
Rose
Cox

We know Frederick Metzger came over to the U.S. from Baden Germany when he was 19. He lived in Maryland and VA before settling in Indiana and marrying in the 1860's.His son Henry was my great-grandfather, father of William Fredrick Metzger. We know Henry died in 1901 in Clark Co. IN but I cannot find his grave site there.

Edward Bagshaw was born in England around January 1803 and came to America in 1820. He married Sarah Engle and raised a family with her in Washington Co./Clark Co. Indiana. She died around 1861.He married Mary Lemons Donahue in 1869. His two sons with her were Alonzo and Charles Bagshaw. Charles married Mary Taylor. Their daughter Mable Bagshaw was my grandmother. She married William Fredrick Metzger. Their son Leslie Harrison was my father.

If anyone has any information or questions, they can e-mail me and I would be more than willing to share.
