* The Robertsons, Reischauer, Comings (Cummings) Family Tree*

Updated September 28, 2000

I am researching the Mathias (matthew) REISCHAUER family, they came from upper Austria in the Salzkammergut area, just east of Salzburg. They were baptised in a Protestant Church in a village called Scharten near the town of Efferding, Austria. He and his family came to the US in 1853 through New Orleans, LA and then to Illinois and settled in a town called Kornthal 2 miles south of Jonesboro, Union Co., Ill. I do not know the name of his first wife as she died in Kornthal in late 1853. He then married a Miss Eve Maria Maier on 3/28/1854, They had 5 children they are: Martin 4/28/1863 (this is my GGGrandfather), Christian Ernest 4/20/1857, Josephine Maria 9/04/1855, Theresa Anna 5/19/1859, Matthias 9/04/1861, all were borned in Kornthal, Ill.
In addition to the REISCHAUER family I'm researching the Elmer Ellsworth COMINGS family of Cairo, Ill. I'm looking for information on his wife Sarah Anne MORSE of Yorkshire, England 1/05/1863, she lived near a big hill called Roseberry Topping in North Riding, Yorkshire, England. She married Elmer about 1891 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America. Her 1st Husband was Carlos Tomas in London, England in about 1883/84 then for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, South America. When they got there Carlos bought a coffee plantation, They had 1 son named Carlos he was borned at the family home in Yorkshire, England on 11/14/1886.
Her 3 third Husband name is Thaddaus Cannon she married him on 9/1/1923 in Chicago, Ill. She died in Chicago on July 14, 1944.
I'm also looking for any information on Charles ROBERTSON his wife Jenny Clyde Anderson who in 1912 was living at 2122 Locust St., St. Louis, MO, They had a son James 4/14/1912 borned at home.
If there is anyone with information on the above I would like to trade information on them.
