Welcome to our ever burgeoning family tree. This site reflects the family interviews and research of my mother, Pat Robinson and myself, as well as helpful contributions from other family historians such as Booker DeVaughn.

The Latest Discoveries:

On my paternal grandmother's side, we have found her grandmother and great-grandparents on the 1880 Census. According to this document, we were incorrect as to the name of her great-grandfather who we thought to be named Andrew is listed as Cornelius Ware. This should aid in further ancestral research discoveries!

On my maternal grandmother's side, we have discovered a contemporaneous bibliography of Robert Konkle. If you have never heard of this surname on our tree before, it stems from the life of Grandma Van or Gertrude Vandenberge. Her adoption papers reveal that her birth mother was a Konkle and thus Robert Konkle is Grandma Van's grandfather.

Also on the maternal grandmother's side, is the revelation that the Siebeneicher branch emigrated from Kratzau, Bohemia, which is presently known as Chrastava, Czech Republic. In Mom's research a relative had told her that we had once been Von Siebeneicher, which is a count's title. A webpage on the town reveals that in 1782 there was a Valentin Von Siebeneicher mentioned in the town history. I believe the webpage also indicates that the Siebeneicher name has become Sedmidubsky, but the website needs to be translated from the Czech language.

On my maternal grandfather's side, Frederick J. Brooks, we have finally broken past the 19th Century mark. Grandpa told me on a recent visit that no one had been able to get further than his grandfather Frederick William Brooks. I took up the challenge and found him on an 1880 Census, listed as Fred W. Brooks. Although there is a slight logistical error in the record, it seems that his mother was widowed at this time and her married name was Mary Brooks. Her mother also lived with her, Maria Bintliff, born about 1786. This clue will hopefully help us get back further in the tree.

Current Projects:

I am in the process of scanning and digitizing several family photos and papers so that they can be more easily shared and documented. Your contributions from your family would be welcome!
