Susanna was born in Killinchy, Co Down, Northern Ireland c.1828. Married May 1851 to William Robb.
Left Liverpool on the ship, "Albinus" on 23/4/1853 arriving in Melbourne on 2/8/1853. Died 14/12/1896
at Thornton, Victoria.

- Norman James Robb ( 1891 - 1965 ) (17 KB)
Norman was the 10th child of Thomas and Mary Robb. He was born at Alexandra on 4/2/1891. He married Esther Kelly on 31/3/1921 at Alexandra. They farmed "Riverview" ( approx. 100 acres of river flats ) bought from his father for 19 years and sold it in 1944. They had 8 children. Above photo c.1916

William Robb was born in Dundonald, Co Down, Northern Ireland c. 1820. William initially settled at Epping on arriving in Victoria in 1853.
Oral history says William was a woodcutter and supplied Melbourne from Epping using a dray. He later selected land at Rubicon in the 1860's. He died on 20/12/1896 at Thornton.

This anniversary celebrated at 5 Mannish Rd., Wattle Glen ( Lindsay & Janet Donahoo's home ) in February 1989. Original wedding party present ( except priest ) and Marie and Frank renewed their vows in a moving ceremony with all their nine children and families present.

Esther was the eldest of 5 girls living on her parent's farm "Gleninnes" at U.T.Creek - 3 miles out of Alexandra. Leaving school at 14 Esther was apprenticed to a dressmaker in Alexandra. Esther played the violin in the church choir and dance bands.

Christopher, the eldest child of Frank and Marie Robb married Maureen Wood ( also eldest of 9 ) at St Gabriel's, Reservoir on 15/9/1973. They lived in Mansfield for 23 years, then moved to Wangaratta in January 1996. Christopher and Maureen both work in pharmacy. They have 4 children - Anthony,Gerard, Anna & Beth.

Celebrated at the Epping Town Hall with family in April 1961. Norman 70 and Esther 65. After leaving farm in 1939, had Cafe/Milk Bar in Yea for 11 years. Left Yea in 1952 to settle in William St., Ringwood after one year in Balwyn.

This is Thomas Alexander as a young man. Oral history says he was born " At sea " on 5/6/1852. Married 15/4/1877 at Alexandra to Mary Anne Frances Ward. They had 14 children. Thomas died at Alexandra on 13/10/1934. Thomas was the eldest child of William and Susanna Robb.

Robb family reunion at Coonan's property, Whanregarwan Rd., Alexandra on 1st January, 1978.
l.to r. Peter, Kath Coonan, Frank, Mary Van Heezik, Kevin, Patricia Robb, Essie Gieran and Norman. Peter was ordained a Redemptorist priest on 7/9/1947 while Pat was professed a Mercy nun in January 1956. All other family members married.

Mary was born the 3rd child of Thomas and Hannora Ward on 15/7/1858 at Kilmore. Her father was a blacksmith born in Hobart Town while her mother was born in Co Tipperary, Ireland. Her parents married in 1855 in Kilmore. Mary was 42 when she had her 14th and last child in 1900. Mary died on 23/9/1919 aged 61. Above c. 1881. Mary with her first three children, Walter, William and Frances.

and married Marie Patricia Summers on 14/2/1949 at Our Lady of Victories, Camberwell. Frank & Marie farmed at Flowerdale for 5 years then Epping for 9 years before moving to Reservoir in 1963. They had 9 children.
- Mary Anne Frances Robb - an exceptional woman (26 KB)
Mary - a young catholic girl married at 19 went on to have 14 children between 1878 and 1900. She lost three of those children at 14 months, 18 months and 3 years. Then in 1916 she lost her 2nd youngest child and daughter, Honora one month before her 21st birthday!!

- Thomas Alexander Robb - a man with spirit! (20 KB)
Thomas did road contracting and bullock driving in younger days. Eventually settled at "Riverview" just over the Goulburn river on left hand side on the way to Thornton. Lived out his life here. Very "spick and span" , meticulous man. Always had a fine horse and gig and kept everything immaculate.

Marie was born the eldest of 3 children on 21/6/1928 at Murrindindi. Marie's childhood spent in Yea before moving to Melbourne to board and go to school at Santamaria College, Northcote.
