| Ezekiel Robinette (Robinet) was born in Athens County Ohio in 1811. He married 3 times, the first to Lucinda Gabill (Gabriel), then to my great-grandmother Jane Swift Gibson and finally to Sarah Lowery (Lowry, Lowrey). Lucinda gave birth to 5 children and most likely died after giving birth to Moses Robinette in 1856. Ezekiel married Jane and took her children in from her marriage to William Gibson. They had 3 children (at least), two daughters who died from black diptheria and my grandpa Curtis Godridge Robinett in 1865. When Jane died, Ezekiel married Sarah Lowery, lived approximately 1 year and he died in 1882. Sarah never remarried and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio behind their daughter Gwendolyn Fowler and her family. I have been unable to determine where Ezekiel, Lucinda, Jane or the two daughters are buried, but I suspect they are in Hiram Robinette's family plot in Nye Cemetery, Chauncey Ohio. Names that I am researching include Messel, all forms of Robinet. My father was Warren Robinette and my mother is Maybelle Kathryn Glab. Her family are Glab, Sullivan and they lived in and around Cincinnati, Ohio and Aurora, Indiana. Any history about Athens County Ohio is greatly appreciated. |
