THE PETTIGREW'S OF TEXAS - Jefferson and Louisa

My research on the Pettigrew Family History started in 1998. It started in Tyler, Texas- Smith County after getting started interviewing numerous older relatives and then going to the City of Tyler Library and getting other information from the Smith County Court House. I was blessed to be able to find some of my original ancestors' Marriage Licenses dating back to November 1872. We had our first Family Reunion in July 1998 in Tyler, Texas, Smith County. The original family members, Jefferson Pettigrew and his wife, Louisa came here from South Carolina per the 1870 Federal Census. Many questions came to mind while researching my ancestry and many questions remain unanswered. Who were our ancestors before Jefferson and Louisa? What did some of our ancestors look like? Where did they first live or migrate from? Like many American families the Pettigrew Family holds much diversity. Hopefully, with future genealogy research much more can be discovered about our ancestors.
