Earl is researching the following families: ROBB, BARR, NORRIS, WALLER, WHITE, FINCH, SHELDON, McMURPHY, BRYAN, DENT, WALKER.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE ROBB FAMILY:Our ancestor James ROBB (b. 1745 Ire., d. 1825 KY) married Margaret BARR (b. 1748 Ire., d. 1807, IN). They immigrated from County Down, Ireland to America via Philadelphia in 1773. We have extensive family history on this family after they arrived in America, however have very little information on the family roots in Ireland, except that they lived in Newtonards, County Down prior to leaving for America. This family lived a few years in the Philadelphia area, then migrated west via Virginia and Kentucky to Indiana (Posey and Gibson Co.s) where James and many of his descendants settled. We would appreciate receiving any information about James Robb family ancestors in Ireland or possibly Scotland.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE SHELDON FAMILY:Our ancestor Lemuel SHELDON (b. abt 1824, OH, d. in IL) married Louisa McMURPHY (b. 1829, IL d. 1894, IL). Louisa's parents came from NH. The SHELDON/McMURPHY family lived in Hardin and Pope Co's. IL.Any information on these families and the others listed above will be appreciated.
