This page centers around Ernest Roberts, Jr. and Harry W. Roberts. We were born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1930 and 1933, respectively. We are the only offspring of Ernest Roberts, Sr. of Rush County, Indiana and Faye Mattison Roberts of Anderson County, South Carolina. Both families are mixed-race, primarily African with some European and a seasoning of Native American. The Roberts branch is descended from free land owners dating back to about 1730. The Mattison branch is descended from a slave family, the earliest records of which date back to 1813. |
