The Robbens Family from Langport, Somerset, England

Updated April 19, 2009

These files cover the Robbens family from Langport in Somerset, Dymonds' and Gillards, from the Bridford area and the South Hams of Devon and my wifes Larchet family traced to Brimont in France. There are many other linked families including an xtensive line of Corteens' originating in the Isle of Man. All Geographic Locations are in England unless otherwise stated. I have tried to acknowledge contributions from other contacts and researchers and I apologise unreservedly to those I may have missed. Within the files there are a many areas that need further research and I have tried to indicate in the notes
where there is some uncertainty about relationships. I would welcome comments from other researchers on these issues. I have shared my findings with many people including family members and other researchers. In some cases my data has been used
incorrectly by those who purport to have family ties and have not bothered to undertake any of their own research to prove a link. In other cases people have not bothered to keep in touch with me to ensure that data I have issued previously has
been updated or corrected. Information prepared by me and plagiarised by others includes incorrect web based data by:

1 Terry Gwilliams
2 Jim Bunn
3 David Colin Morgan
4 Ronald Norris

If you wish to use information published by the forgoing please contact me first to ensure it is correct.

Thanks to: The late Tom Corteen, John Corteen Ros Corteen, Ann & Charles Hawkes, Philip Wills, David & Helen Penrose, Jeanne White, Sheila Thomson and my wife Marianne.

James H Robbens
