Henry David Roberts (son of John Roberts) was born 1815 in Tewksbury NJ, (Mountainville), and died date unknown in Tewksbury NJ, no grave marker found. He married Catharine Apgar on 08 August 1863 in Fairmount M.E. Church, C.Clark Minister, daughter of Jacob Newton (Big Jake) Apgar and Mary Margaret Trimmer.
Notes for Henry David Roberts: Henry was a harness maker according to my father Raymond Roberts. The Apgar Association refers to Henry as a tanner. Henry and his wife lived in a small house in Mountainville NJ at the intersection of Saw Mill Rd., Main St. and Guines Hollow Rd. The Tannery was on Saw Mill Rd. several hundred feet from Old Turnpike Rd. Henry and Catherine were married on 8 Aug. 1863 at the Fairmount Methodist- Episcopal Church. The minister was C. Clark. Catherine is buried in the M.E. Church Cemetery at the intersection of Old Turnpike Rd and Fairmount Rd. Henry's house was being restored during my visit in July 1995. The foundation Ruins of the old Tannery are still Visiable. There is no known records of Henry's parents and family. In the 1870 U.S. Census, there was a John Roberts living in the same household with Henry. It is assumed that John was his father. The only known record of another Roberts in this area, Fairmount, NJ, is William R. Roberts, who was the first husband of Sophia M. Teets, daughter of Peter R. Teets and Rachel Schuyler. Peter and Rachel had 19 children.
Isaac Teets married Sarah Sutton. Rachel Teets married George Thurston. Sophia M. Teets married (1) William R. Roberts, and (2) John M. Barrett.
Is it possible that William R. Roberts was a brother to Henry D. Roberts?
