Jacob is the eldest son of Moritz Kreter, born sometime prior to 1740. In his father's will, probated 24 April, 1772, it states that Jacob is to be taken care of by his brothers and sisters. Appearently, Jacob was not able to care for himself. It is not known what his handicap was.
