Notes for Daisy Deona Thurston: Jim and Daisy bought a 240 acre farm just inside the Graig County line in Oklahoma. They lived and raised their family on this farm. In the early 1930's Jim and sold the farm and bought a smaller farm in Rogers County, Oklahoma, a mile north of the Timber Ridge Church on old Highway 33.
Daisy was one of sweet pleasantness. Everyone loved her right off, a very even tempered person. She was a true pioneer woman, taking care of the home, canning fruit and all the vegetables in her large garden, which she and her children tended, raising chickens and selling the butter and eggs she got together to market at Claremore. On Sunday the community people came to town to do business and to pick up supplies and to socialize. This was a real treat for the children of Jim and Daisy.
Daisy is buried in Timpson Chapel Cemetery at White Oak, Oklahoma.
