The Robinsons of St. Clair County Alabama
The Robinsons of St. Clair County AlabamaUpdated June 9, 2007 | Robert Edward Robinson 1285 Rocky Hollow Rd Blountsville,Alabama 35031 United States [email protected] |
This Robinson family history starts with George Robinson, born 1812 in Edgefield South Carolina, who is married in 1835 to Mary Caroline Edwards, daughter of Dr.John Spearman Edwards who migrated to Elyton,Alabama(Birmingham)and then to Trussville,Alabama.George and Mary moved from South Carolina to Trussville,Alabama and then to St Clair County,Alabama where they were landowners and farmers of a Homestead presumably homesteaded by George's father,George Robinson,Sr.We do not know what happened to George Robinson Sr.or his wife.We do know that he had a son named William and a son named George, whom is our line.I have proof of this by a will filed in South Carolina by George's grandfather,Allen Robinson, who named George Robinson of Alabama and William Robinson, because their father George Robinson was dead. Also I have a document that was submitted by George Robinson of St Clair County Alabama dated in 1859 giving power of attorney to a law firm in South Carolina to claim any inheritence to Allen Robinson's estate. This document shows that George Jr. is making a claim as an heir because his father George Sr. is dead.I was able to trace the rest of the Robinsons from Allen Robinson back to England.Their are varied version of his ancestry, but I have traced this through a series of wills. I would like other researchers to contact me about this, because when I get back to Christopher Robinson, there are deviations.Any help would be appreciated. | |
